Sweden’s parliament on Monday 17 October 2022 elected Moderates leader Ulf Kristersson as the country’s new prime minister.

A total of 176 members of the Riksdag voted in favor of Kristersson, while 173 members voted against him.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday appointed all-rounder Nida Dar as captain of the women’s national team and brought back New Zealander Mark Coles as head coach ahead of a hectic year-long programme.

Nida, 36, replaces Bismah Maroof, who stepped down after Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in February, where the team lost three of their four matches.

An official notification said that South Waziristan had been divided into two districts; South Waziristan Upper and South Waziristan Lower.

The decision has been taken under the Land Revenue Act, 1967.

According to the notification, the South Waziristan Upper will comprise two sub divisions – Sarwakai and Ladha. Spinkai Raghazai has been notified as the headquarters of newly-created Upper district. Tiarza, Serwakai, Shawal, Ladha, Makin, Shaktui and Sararogha have been made tehsils of South Waziristan Upper.

Wana has been declared as the headquarters of Ahmadzai Wazir tribe-dominated South Waziristan Lower district. The lower district comprises one sub-division (Wana) and four tehsils, including Wana, Shakai, Tolkhela and Birmal.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa now has 36 districts with the bifurcation of South Waziristan.

The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) after Fata Merger consist of seven divisions. There are 36 districts in the  Kpk province after the bifurcation of district South Waziristan  into lower and upper as well as Chitral into lower and upper. The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the third-largest province of Pakistan by population and the smallest province by area, is divided into 36 districts and seven divisions. recently South Waziristan split into two districts. which makes the total districts of kpk to 36.

The provincial cabinet on Tuesday approved dividing South Waziristan tribal district into Upper and Lower South Waziristan districts.
